Local History
Warnervale, named after Albert Hamlyn Warner who acquired 12,000 acres in 1893, reflects the influence of his travels to Japan and his son Leslie’s trip to the U.S., evident in nearby road names like Minnesota, Virginia, and Nikko. His family home, ‘Hakone,’ on the Wyong River, was named after a Japanese park.
Gazetted as a village in 1975, Warnervale’s boundaries were set in 1991. In 1998, it was subdivided, creating Halloran, Wallarah, Woongarrah, and Hamlyn Terrace, which are now highly sought after areas for Australian family homes and lifestyles.
